"I usually start with a sketch, and this piece was no different! The hardest things to figure out at this stage was the composition and how to fit all three of them and their dialogue in the space I was working with in a way that was also pleasing to the eye and conveyed the story I wanted to tell. The biggest things for me going in were that I wanted all of them to be touching, and I wanted pussy at the center! Adding stirrups to the standard TOS med bed ended up being more challenging than I thought, but ultimately I kept it simple. McCoy’s dialogue was a last minute addition to balance the piece and add more context, so it wasn’t part of this original sketch! i've been doing a tiny bit of worldbuilding to explain spock and mitchell's connection a little more
and i came up with
spock being mitchell's academic journal entry editor and their soundboard when they prepare for presentations
and they in return do the same for spock
pls imagine spock sitting there and listening or reading quietly, mitchell giving him this hedging "well?" smile and spock taking a dainty little breath
then reading the entirety of it to filth
and then they repeat this process like three times until mitchell gets the slightest softening of spock's expression and a "sufficient argument, i believe this will be adequate" to which they do this little "yesssss / fistpump"
