Irishman in Sweden. Likes: writing, dancing, gardening, socialism. Hates: AI slop, dill. Especially dill. Maker of games since - oh God - the 1980s.

New passtime: Reporting all LinkedIn ads, as well as posts I find boring or annoying, as AI slop, to drop gravel in the teach-us-how-to-make-slop-that-nobody-notices Microsoft machinery. Because fuck them. And a boy needs his hobbies.

Mitch McConnell is dead. He's an ex-turtle. He's pushing up the fucking daisies. And once the deadline for the Kentucky special election runs out today, we'll hear all about it.

I've always liked to walk around my flat naked in the mornings and just because they put new high buildings across the road with a great view through my windows it does not mean I'm about to stop, no matter what the police say.

My top beauty tip: Instead of spending piles of money trying to "look younger" just tell people you are five years older than you actually are. And presto, instant youthful looks, for free!

I'm wondering, since the whole metaverse thing failed and pervert glasses are now the new frontier, if Facebook will do a name change from Meta to Perv. I'm here for it.

Google tells me the wee bug I saved from the water barrel is a red-breasted carrion beetle (Oiceoptoma thoracicum) although it does add that AI can make mistakes so its answer cannot be relied upon in the slightest. Isn't AI just fab?

A large flat black beetle with an orange upper body and head.

Regarding the online tidal wave of morons complaining about "woke" Odyssey I am confident that essentially none have actually read it, including Musk, that rocket-powered bollox.

I have similar opinions about pineapple on pizza. You like pineapple on your pizza? Then have it. You don't? Well don't then. Imagine raging about what other people like on the food they made or paid for. (For the record, I think it's fine.)

I never get the whole "love it or hate it" thing about Marmite. I cannot muster strong feelings about Marmite, no matter how hard I try. If someone asks me "Would you like some Marmite?" my response will invariably be "I don't know... Perhaps?"

The training gurus on my social media all seem to misunderstand something. Look, it's not the "It's a simple exercise!" part that's the problem, I see what you're doing, I can repeat it, sure. It's the whole "Just 20 minutes every day" part. Seriously, EVERY day? Forever? You're kidding, right?

Infuriating that they had the muppets - the actual muppets - and used them barely at all. Obviously you need to give the entire show to them. All of it. Fuck Madonna and Robbie Williams and those other people I am too old to recognise.

I might have just coined a word: "Podisode" to mean an episode of a podcast. Since I was bored with writing "episode of a podcast" all the time. Just remember where you saw it first (or, possibly, an additional time).

It was 30 degrees here yesterday. I worked from home and went for a lunchtime walk and saw half a dozen joggers out pounding the pavement. I mean, I like a run, sure, but at midday, in blazing sun, on the hottest day of the year? Do people really ENJOY that? Or are they driven by self-punishment?

Stumbled into rewatching The Matrix and my god that is a gorgeous movie. Every scene is breathtaking, tight, perfect. It's a work of art. How could mere humans have made this?
