Sundry Sunday... 'Holey Mackerel' ~ Poplar wood. Currently painted white... and about to be colorfully painted. 'Eyrie' ~ Eagle mosaic from origninal Pinot Noir vines planted in 1965 in Wilamette Valley, CA. Briar Pipe ~ Won National Championship 1993. Bookmarks ~ Wood veneers. #🗝️ #wood

More matchsticks... 'Gurdjieff' ~ Carved in Mahogany with burnt matchstick shaft. 'Duck Cane' ~ A duck head handle and a burnt matchstick shaft, handle screwed off to reveal a pipe stem, which when inserted turned it into a smokable pipe. (sorry for photo quality)

A couple of the boxes... 'Space Box' ~ Purple Heart and Ebony with silver and mother of pearl inlay. 'Jack' ~ Carved from one piece of Boxwood, painted with acylics. 'Book Box' ~ Purple Hear with inlaid silver wire. The inside of the box was laminated maple veneer.. to look like pages.

Some wooden boats... 'B.O.T.E.' ~ (Bark On Top Edge) carved in Serviceberry wood. A couple of 'Candle Boats' carved in Sapele and Lacewood. 'Napkin Boats' Dyed Maple, Walnut and Sapele wood.

A repost... These two pieces were made from an old computer desk. 'Blue Bill' ~ This one reminded me of Mr Bill from the old SNL skit. 'Seg-Man-Ted' ~ Segments were cut from the desk to form 'slices' which were held together by horizontal dowels.

A repost... A couple of spoons carved from Ambrosia Maple. 'Ambrosia' is not a distinct specie of Maple... it is a discoloration caused by fungi which are carried by Ambrosia beetles as they bore into the wood.
