My Sunday power skating coach challenges me every skate, today was no different. So I ended up with a big parachute tied to my tail, and every drill was a "stand on the throttle" full out go. I gave it hell in every forward gear. Now my legs are absolutely trashed, worse than any leg day in memory

Weekends are supposed to be relaxing, or so I thought. I'm exhausted. Also , I really need to remind myself that comparison truly can be a thief of joy. *Goes to nap on sofa before dinner*
Really shouldn't have been surprised my skate today was hot garbage. Had a 2 week hiatus from the ice, and not much gym or running. Add in tons of parental care issues, and it was a lot of stress. Glad I have a dear friend in @cheekdots.bsky.social . Thanks for listening at the coffee shop. :)

Having bought Under Armour clothing online over the years, I routinely get emails from them. I usually just delete them, but lately they've been using Francois Arnaud of Heated Rivalry fame as 1 of their models. He's my new Internet crush. I would just melt if he hugged me. So drool worthy!!
The northern Ontario wildfires are so intense right now, that the smoke has made it's way down to the Greater Toronto area. My phone doesn't really capture how orange and hazy it is right now. The sun, when I can locate it, is a tiny orange dot.
Finding myself really craving some sorta change. Just no clue what I want tbh. Kinda wondered what a Queer eye makeover would feel like, and would I be brave enough to try. Guess maybe I'm tired of me...or something like that...
In local news, neighborhood pest makes mess....lol
It's oddly uncomfortable having the house to myself again. It was really nice having company for a while. Seems weird , quiet and alone.

GO Transit owes these old war horses a debt of gratitude. They helped build the commuter rail network GO has today, paving the way for the MP series locos and longer trains. Nice to see this one still in active service some 40 years on. Apparently some are getting new Metrolinx livery.
These DMU's for the Union-Pearson Express are the neatest thing. Unmistakably Cummins powered, with ZF (I think) final drives, they literally sound and feel like a highway coach on rails. A modern day Budd RDC car, without the signature 2 stroke screaming Jimmy's tho.
Taking the train into the city the other evening and I was able to catch a quick snap of the @rapidotrains.bsky.social fleet resting at Willowbrook yard. It's so cool to have these folks in the hobby. The absolute best in Canadian based model trains, and now full size stuff too! Thanks guys!

@cheekdots.bsky.social helped up my running game tonight. Full mile and change, no stops / walking. Can only go up from here. Feeling rather accomplished!
For my running/fitness following. I'm trying to actually start running. I went from interval stuff on the gym treadmill to actually running steady. This 10 min mile threshold seems impossible. Good shoes, light clothes, well hydrated. Can't seem to run well enough long enough. Any advice, thoughts?
