It is slightly disappointing to realise that I'm now the middle-aged guy at rock gigs reliving his lost youth. I was listening to a really fun band The Linda Lindas and couldn't help but try to work out their 1990s influences (in this case, Semisonic and Weezer). What a sad way to listen to music.

Chatting with Americans and fellow Brits on another platform, I'm amazed how little we know about basic economics. Like what a tariff is, how gilts and bonds work, etc. I certainly didn't learn this stuff in school. Largely, I'm self-taught through a diet of economic history.

At the risk of giving it away, but if I ever finish my existing projects - so somewhere around 2050, if I'm still alive - I'd like to write a history of the 1990-2010 period. Watching shit reality TV, like Celebrity Hell's Kitchen and calling it "research" strikes me as a day worth doing.

I have seen some criticism of series 21 of Taskmaster. Having now watched it in full, i dont know what these people are talking about. Instant classic getting a Hollywood A-Lister to mess around with paint and eggs on British TV.
