'The Tow Path.' (c1878) Anton Mauve was a leading member of the Hague school, the Dutch counterpart to the Barbizon school. Vincent van Gogh, who was the cousin of Mauve’s wife, studied with him in 1881–82, and admired him as 'a great interpreter of the gray Dutch countryside.'

Femme avec un chat.' Paintings made by Louis Anquetin in the 1880s and 1890s influenced a number of his contemporaries, especially van Gogh, Emile Bernard and Toulouse-Lautrec. Of these, it was Anquetin who received the first serious attention from art critics.
Here's a new one I created as a demonstration for The Broadmoor Galleries' "9th Annual Broadmoor Art Experience" a few weeks ago. The event is held at The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs in July and includes artists from all over the country. "Just Chillin'," oil, 16"x12".
