It's an opinion piece, so the author has the right to dunk on whatever they want, but it kinda sucks to be like "You know this this thing you and millions of other people like? It's dog water, here's why" as opposed to "This thing is just the tip of the iceberg, here's deeper options for you".

Big fan of LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS. Is dungeon crawler carl a piece of fine literature? No. I'm reading them anyways and swing wildly from this is stupid I hate it, to this is fun. It's not great, I have to read other things between or I get bogged down. It's not perfect, it's fine.

Five year old book. 300 pages. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS for an ebook. The price of books has been depressing me SO BAD lately. I never thought I'd see the day when I'm starting to feel priced out of reading
Was scrolling through goodreads and checked out a book that I was surprised to see had a review from someone I knew who passed 2 years ago. Was not emotionally prepared for that suckerpunch today but here we are.
Mass markets were only phased out so that the publisher could jack up all prices for all books. Why charge 8 dollars for a book that costs us two dollars to print when we could charge $14 dollars for a digital book that costs nothing. I will die on this hill forever.
Insurance finally made a decision. They estimated 15k worth of damage and repairs need to be done. My claim only covers up to 10. So they pay that out, wipe their hands of it and I'm left to figure everything else out myself.
