Raleigh Union station is a really nice, and it’s great to see this kind of investment in a modern station. But the urban design is kind of a work in progress.

Worth noting that the current service will be greatly improved by S line project, with a more direct alignment and 90-110 MPH track speeds.

The Silver Spring Green Trail along Wayne Ave is basically done. Mostly an enhanced sidewalk, it nonetheless provides a connects between the Silver Spring metro/downtown and the MBT and Sligo Creek.

Riverdale Park is always good for a weekend bike visit! Manifest Bread is the perfect half way stop!

This will be a super interesting experiment. I’m not sure if the use case makes a ton of sense (commuters from Germantown, Rockville etc heading to downtown Baltimore) but I applaud the creativity! I hope to try this at some point for fun.

Overhead wire for the Purple Line has been installed in Silver Spring!

While the trip was nice overall, I really noticed a lot of schedule padding with the Vermonter yesterday. In addition to layovers in New Haven and New York, we arrived to Baltimore 15 minutes early. The overall time could be cut by 30-60 minutes if everything was optimized.

Construction for the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Silver Spring. This runs from East-West Highway over Georgia avenue and to the transit center. I think this is the last major section under construction at the moment!

Curious if anyone uses the Met Branch trail to visit the Walmart on Riggs road near Fort Totten. Bike connection is surprisingly okay.

This seems super interesting—current options from DC to Annapolis are really limited. But unfortunate that the bus will not take you to downtown Annapolis… I guess they can deliver more service this way and connect to existing local routes.

Exciting! I used the Pennsylvanian earlier this year and enjoyed it! Not the fastest, but a very convenient trip between Pittsburgh and Philly!
