Powering the energy transition sometimes means returning to where it began. In Christchurch, the 1903 power station has moved from museum to operational site once again. With community support, its heritage is preserved while the building supports SSEN colleagues today.

EGL2 is a 2GW HVDC cable link between Peterhead, Scotland, and Drax, England. Jointly developed by SSEN Transmission and NGET, construction started in 2024, and it will be operational by 2029. EGL2 will enhance Scotland's renewable energy capacity, powering around two million UK homes. 💡🏘️
