Pebbles and Sam

Pebbles having a light snack of just put out catnip. I grow it in a container, harvest once in a while, and dry it for a month. I mix in a small amount of store bought. She eats the fresh stuff.

Got a California Towhee in a back yard area with a bad leg. It hops around as if nothing is wrong so I left a small feed and water dish out on the deck which it uses. Typical lifespan is 3-5 years but can go to 8-12. Hope this one can keep going with a little help.

Two Scaly-breasted Munias at the feeder. Brought from Asia in the ‘90s for the pet trade, they of course escaped into the wild. I have a local flock of a couple dozen in the central coast of California. Love their body armor. They are very social and seem to get along with the other species. #birds

Two small brown birds that have a silvery scaly breast. They are at a feeder.

This next thread mixes the story of Mr. Moe and why we need to remember the senior cats. So many older cats wind up in shelters where they do not deserve to be. Some because their owners die or become incapable of caring for their animal and others because they become too expensive to care for.
