Given the history of similar audits, and the fact that DHS’s systems are riddled with errors, we should expect that these numbers are very likely false and have not been properly verified yet. Multiple previous state audits produced splashy numbers that evaporated on further investigation.

people are being weird about this. as the Guardian article (which is actually good) says, the guy put himself through community college and has been a local councilman for five terms and is a union organizer that's Normal. you want that shape of guy, which isn't the same shape as oyster guy at all!

This is my favorite subplot in the news right now. Multiple world leaders have made announcements that Erdogan’s “gift” has been turned over to local authorities. Like, at this moment, there’s a handgun engraved with “Keir Starmer” in a municipal police officer’s drawer somewhere. Incredible bit.
Haitian migrants in Ohio fled a dangerous country to carve out a life in the U.S. doing shit work (factories, home health care, etc) that actual "Americans" refuse to do. it's the story of our nation's immigration patterns dating back 150 years and yet b/c of their skin color, they are vilified

If you really can't say "AOC is better than Tucker Carlson," you are on the right-wing. You see a basket of extreme right-wing views from one of Trump's friends and find it compelling. Nothing else you say about your political orientation makes the slightest difference, you're just a right-winger.

They corralled everyone on the left into a little glass fishbowl where they shout at one another & everyone else ignores them. Meanwhile, all the pols & institutions stayed on X & are being dragged farther right.
