St Andrews X-Ray Crystallography

@standrewsxray.bsky.social

The single-crystal X-ray diffraction service at the University of St Andrews. Information about publications we have been involved with, as well as other crystallography-related content.

A recently accepted paper with the @ezc-group.bsky.social. The service determined the structure of the emitter being investigated.

Congrats🎉👏 to Wenrui & Sen for their paper accepted in @angewandtechemie.bsky.social (doi.org/10.1002/anie...) on deep-blue #mrtadf emitters showing fast kRISC w/o heavy atoms & their use in #oleds. This was in collab/w the group of Ifor Samuel. @standrewschem.bsky.social @standrewsosc.bsky.social

Belatedly, this is now published in Advanced Optical Materials. We determined the structures of the two binap-based emitters.

Congratulations 🎊 to John and Tomas for their paper accepted in Adv. Optical Mater. (dx.doi.org/10.1002/adom...) on BINAP-substituted #mrtadf emitters and OLEDs, work done in collaboration with the group of Chihaya Adachi.🥳 @standrewschem.bsky.social @standrewsosc.bsky.social #boronPG

Nominations are extended until this Friday! If you think you or someone you know might be eligible, pleas get nominations in - there's not a lot of details required for this initially.

Nominations are open for this year's BCA-CCG @ccdc.cam.ac.uk Chemical Crystallography Prize for Younger Scientists. They close at the end of the month! For more information, see ccg-bca.github.io/ccgprize/ Please spread the word! @escg-bca.bsky.social @crystallography.org.uk

Another recently accepted paper with the Kumar group. The service determined the structure of an isolable form of one of their complexes part way through its catalytic cycle.

Delighted to share our paper just published in @acs.org catalysis where we report a new strategy for the hydrogenation of CO2 to CO using a Ru #pincer catalyst. Congratulations to James Luk and everyone at @standrewschem.bsky.social involved in the project. More details: doi.org/10.1021/acsc...

Rather belatedly now is this work published in Nature Chemistry early this year. The service determined two structures for this work, including the absolute configurations, one of the compounds existing as a pair of diastereomers.

A new pathway for an old reaction! Check out a new approach to conduct catalytic enantioselective [1,2]-Wittig rearrangement. A groundbreaking discovery led by Prof. Andrew Smith just published in @natchem.nature.com. See more details at: nature.com/articles/s41...

A paper accepted late at the end of last year is this work with the Stasch group. We determined the structures of five calcium complexes, both homo- and heteroleptic, including a donor-solvent-free molecular calcium hydride complex. @standrewschem.bsky.social

Really pleased to see this work from my PhD in the Stasch group is (finally!) out in one of my favourite journals, @daltontrans.rsc.org! pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
