We had a fun Gen Con themed night of improv cartooning last night. The Random Encounter charts, dice, and audience participation gave me these drawing prompts: Beholder + Cosplay, Hobbit + TSR Castle, and Umber Hulk + TPK.

Just heard a great unintentional portmanteau that I think we need to put into common use: STEADFUSAL—Steadfast refusal; hanging on to ideas or behaviors despite being shown proof that you are wrong or doing something unwise.

Here's a little 10-minute doodle of Jimothy I drew tonight while doing some troubleshooting on my livestreaming tech issues. It came out about as successfully as the troubleshooting ... that is, serviceable but not spectacular.

Game Night Quote: P1: "The statue is holding an offering tray that detects as magical and anything we put on the tray disappears. I bet this is how we can travel to different planes!" P1 & P2: "Ummm ..." P3: "I'm gonna climb onto the tray!" P3 climbs onto tray and all his clothes and gear disappear.

For some reason, this week I've had a real hankering to rewatch "The Big Short" and "Margin Call." I HOPE this is not some kind of omen.

We had some summer fun in this week's episode of Random Encounters! The dice, encounter tables, and audience input created these randomly-generated drawing prompts: Adventurers + Wiffleball, Drider + Hot & Humid, and Purple Worm + Graduation Day.

This is going to seem like a weird request ... but I'm trying to get my hand on a specific card from the Shadowrun CCG (published in the mid-90s). It was an uncommon card called "Bullet Barrier." If you happen to have a line one, drop me a line. Thanks!

It's a complicated time in the U.S. ... our frailty is showing. But that's our history. We stumble, we fall ... then we get up and try to do better. On our 250th anniversary, I celebrate the best of what we've done, and vow to fight to help us reach for those heights again. Happy Independence Day.

I always forget that on top of being Cinco de Mayo and Revenge of the Fifth ... today is also National Cartoonists Day! Remember to pay proper respects!

Heya, folks! Here's the latest completed cartoon homage from my 50 Years in the Dungeon series. This is my cartoony tip of the cap to Jeff Easley's cover painting for "The Dawning of a New Age," the first novel in the Dragonlance: Fifth Age series penned by the late, great Jean Rabe.

For Indie Bookstore Day Harper Collins is publishing a book based on the TTRPG I designed (about 15 years ago) for the Warrior Cats series. Don't know if it's my original game or a revision but it's called "Warriors: Enter the Adventure." Available today at participating independent bookstores.
