The Spy Who Came in from the Cold

Ending the week with a cheeky #Blakes7 review, as we put our crew back together to carry on into Series C. Yup. It's time to say hello to Twattant - it's Powerplay boxofflashinglights.wordpress.com/2026/08/02/p...
Powerplay
Or: Hail, Hail, The Gang’s All Here. Again. Way back when (or The Way Back when if you will) Terry Nation launched Blake’s 7 he did so with a mammoth 4 part pilot episode that introduce…

If I had a pound for every effete posh boy, supposed poet who became a supernatural being...well, I'd have two pounds but it still feels like a lot.

Series 1-3 of Blake's 7 is some of the best and most innovative scifi tv ever made. Astonishing, must-watch stuff. Series 4 is utterly dire and you should definitely not ruin your experience of the show by continuining to watch it beyond the end of series 3.
Bounty will always be one of my favourite Series A episodes. For a show that too often gave ladies crap to do, Bounty shines. First half Cally gets to climb and jump and kick Federation arse. Second half Jenna gets to connive and sneer and kick Amagon arse. Then there's Tyce who's simply glorious!
Series A, Episode 11 - Bounty SARKOFF: Blake is finished, I'm afraid. TYCE: You really want to believe that, don't you? SARKOFF: I want you to recognize a fact. TYCE: Why? SARKOFF: Because I'm afraid for you. TYCE: Don't be. https://blake.torpidity.net/m/111/410
It's lovely to have #StrangeNewWorlds back. That was a great episode.
Dana Andrews said prunes, gave him the runes, and passing them used lots of skill.

Excellent article about buying books you don't read and how it contributes to well being 📚💙 And love that the Japanese have a word for it! #tsundoku theconversation.com/why-you-keep...?

We've had so many prime ministers these last few years that it's been like watching a really dull remake of The Curse of Fatal Death!
Remember how 60 years ago STAR TREK had an episode about a planet whose inhabitants’ technology to create convincing fake shit was so advanced that the Federation decided no one could visit that planet and doing so was punishable by death?
And that's what you get for trying to defend a one goal lead against a team like Argentina. Fuck!
