Stretching my proverbial legs a little with modelling. Trying out a mixed approach to trims by using one texture set for both trims and mesh decals. Not a novel approach, but I hadn’t done so previously. I’m enjoying myself. ((Note: keypad for the door is a reference asset off FAB, please ignore))

IT'S HAPPENING! I got official approval from Warner Chappell to release my brand-new piece: Uncharted Worlds - Extended Version. Now over 4 minutes of music, starting off with a slight twist on the original, then drifting off into new musical territory. More details soon!

First time implementing something from a Research Paper. At first it looked really scary but after rereading the paper a few times i got it. Here is my implementation of GTAO (Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion) I had a blast doing this and even got more interested in everything around radiology.

Learning @godotengine.org has been cool so far. I’m surprised to find GDScript fairly easy to learn with the ‘right tutorial’ to put my ADHD brain in the right space. Feels good to learn coding after being married to Blueprints for literally decades. I have my issues, but it’s been fun already! :)

Been thinking and I’ve got a potentially hot take: The Steam Machine could have been an absolute top-selling banger regardless of its’ price, if they’d implemented Thunderbolt / an equivalent on the back panel, and / or an internal PCIE x16 port on the mainboard.

I wonder what the process is for ships and vehicles in Star Wars? They’re such bizarre shapes all glued together haphazardly, and yet… they work! I’d love to sort out that process, it’s so cool.

More lighting and material tests. One thing I’m not happy with in Godot is the quality of shadow-casting lights… it’s hard to get lights not to look… I guess “icky” is the only word I’ve got right now? My expectations are probably too high though, as an Unreal Engine refugee. We’ll see. :)
