9. Starweave a short & beautiful game! i don't want to repeat myself so i'll screenshot my steam review, but i liked the game quite a lot. its only 3 dollars for a limited time, so there's no reason not to try it out if it seems as if it'll appeal to you at all- it does quite a few cool things

BildA steam review. The text of the review reads: Just looking at the game's page, you can tell that "Starweave" is trying to say SOMETHING. However, it is not immediately clear exactly what that "something" will be until quite late in the game- the game motions at guessing what that could be quite a bit, but it isn't until later in the game that it really shows its cards. And how nicely it did so! "Starweave" plays with expectations, recognizes itself as the art piece that it is, and does my most favorite thing of using game mechanics as a storytelling medium. It couldn't be anything but a game- or at least, it wouldn't be the same story if it wasn't a game. The voice acting was a wonderful and welcome surprise, particularly for a game that's only five dollars, and the illustrative pieces go without saying for how pretty they are. Even though it was pretty clear when different artists were working on different pieces, I didn't feel as if the styles clashes with each other, but rather spoke to the number of people who cared about the project. My one nitpick with this game though is the textboxes cutting out/fading in with every progression. It gave me a headache and took me out of the story quite a bit, which is a shame given that the story itself is so lovingly written, and it's preventing me from multiple playthroughs, at least for now. That being said, I did enjoy my short time with the game. For the price point, it's well worth your time.

soup and caverns yapping...! ◈ been sick on and off but have rediscovered art games ^^ i've had fun! and have again stress tested how fast i can draw for the most fictional currency (linear growth to whimsy and joy) im also very into minecraft recently... more yap later mayhaps
