Gov. Tim Walz on Wednesday indicated he’s unlikely to call a special session of lawmakers in response to wildfires burning in northeast Minnesota. As of Wednesday, some 69% of the Boundary Waters was open to campers and paddlers, while the fires are, on average, 50% contained, officials said.
