We don't need crypto VCs to connect online. There's a better way! https://mastodon.jointhefediverse.net Follow me on https://stefanbohacek.online/@stefan instead.

when people say you can't promote things on mastodon i gotta laugh. it's harder to build an audience, but it's way more engaged. i have almost 12k followers there, but my posts regularly outperform my 13k here also, mastodon's support *specifically* was crucial to kitsune tails' launch week success

I do like Bluesky but Mastodon is slept on far too much, I have over 80K followers on Mastodon… mastodon.social/@gamingonlinux

"Mastodon sucks." Every last bit of Fedi is built by members of your community trying to provide a space to people for free, often at great expense to themselves. This isn't some social network we just rolled up and started using, we built it. I wish more people understood that before they slam it.

To counter all the cringy fediverse interactions that regularly get posted on here, here's a post of mine from 2024 where a question about unexpected popularity was answered by one of the scientists involved with publishing the first ever image of a black hole.

A screenshot of a fediverse exchange between me and astrophysicist professor Heino Falcke.

Me: What's something you've made that got unexpectedly popular? (Not necessarily hugely popular, but more than you thought it would.)
