When it comes to this Canadiens mgmt team, where there’s smoke, there’s never fire. If you’re reading about potential moves, the odds of them happening, based on history, are pretty much zero. If a trade does occur, we’ll be the last to find out. I have absolutely no issue with this whatsoever.

Nothing doing with Marchenko, and anyway, even if there were, who do you think Montreal is giving up to acquire him? I certainly don’t know, but I can tell you it wouldn’t be insignificant.

After drafting Demidov, Hutson, Slafkovsky, Dobeš and Fowler, this next wave doesn’t need to become stars. If a handful develop into reliable NHL contributors, Montreal’s drafting during the rebuild will have accomplished exactly what it was supposed to do: build a sustainable contender.

The Flyers' offer sheet for Leo Carlsson is bad business. I'm surprised Martin Biron's only comment was that he likes Philly's aggression in trying to improve their roster, but what about that insane number? That is not roster building; it's roster destruction and eventual economic/cap failure.

Montreal moving Roy, Trudeau, and possibly others from Laval could be seen as a way of giving those players a chance elsewhere, which, by the way, they weren’t likely to get in Montreal, and that could happen someday. However, I believe the reality is that neither of them is NHL calibre.
