I'm at the point where I can slowly read most things in hirigana (actual meanings and connections are still a work in progress, lmao). I think I might be ready to move on to katakana but I'm afraid that if I do I'll just forget the hirigana and have to start again 😭

Wrapped Shadow of a Dark Queen, first book in the Serpentwar saga. Really liked this a proper large scale follow up to Riftwar. A lot more of an edge to it than the Tolkienesque original trilogy, which emblematic of coming out in the 90s for sure. Great setup for what comes next!
