Are there days when “I’m driving down highway 40 in my big ol’ pickup truck” from the Brak show *isn’t* stuck in my head? Sure, but I wouldn’t say those are my best days, either.

If you ordered one of my dad’s paintings, it’s on its way! There’s still a few left, too! Head over to StevePaintedThis.com to take a look. Thanks for supporting my dad’s art! If you can, please leave a review and a photo, he loves seeing his paintings in their new homes. ❤️

New stress dream unlocked: at the Taco Bell drive-thru with my parents, but their orders are incredibly complex. The dream ends with my mom pulling a coupon for free pasta out of her purse, but it’s dine-in only. Taco Bell honored the coupon anyway. 🙌

Nothing matches the relief of waking up from a school nightmare. A cascading feeling of “oh, that was a dream”, “I’ve been out of school for years”, then the joy of “thank god I’ll never deal with that again”.

“Time goes faster the older you get.” For gamers that’s felt in console releases. Hearing of a potential PS6 is crazy because the PS5 *just* came out. But it didn’t — it’ll be 7 next year! Kid me waited FOREVER for GameCube, and gens were shorter back then. Time is wild, man.

The entire video game industry is no stranger to anti-consumer practices, but requiring 2 active PlayStation Plus subscriptions for couch co-op is truly some next-level nonsense.

Had a dream the end credits of DBZ episodes each had different music, with a tiny animated music video in the corner. It was sponsored by Yamaha, and “YAMAHA JAM” was onscreen. The song in the dream had a chorus of “pi pi pi COMPUTER, pi pi pi COMPUTER.” Verses were Japanese.

Had a dream I was in a flea market with the Blu-ray box set of the Dick Van Dyke Show in my hand, trying to decide if I wanted to buy it. …but in the dream it was a Western and 59 Seasons long, so I kept thinking, “I know this is good, but man, that’s so much Western.”

I’m not a big shmup guy, but I sincerely appreciate the approach that R-Type is taking. From GKC to full cart, and now delaying the cart release to ensure a polished product that works without needing a patch later. This is the way. I will gladly wait for games that choose to do this.

We’ve collected every N64, GameCube, Wii, and Wii U title. Halfway through SNES, too. And every time I think, “well, maybe Switch wouldn’t be *too* bad”, I remember that not only are there over 4,000 physical titles across all regions, but they’re *still* releasing. So uh… no.
