Sorry all. We have had to cancel recording this week. We SHOULD be recording the week of Oct 5th next. However, you're in luck @stargatepioneer.bsky.social and I are still going to just have a little chit-chat-shat stream.

Things that tell me your US bias is showing: - Using subordinating language when referring to Canada (ie. 'defying Trump') - Legitimately attempting humour with language such as 51st State, Governor Carney, Lake America, etc - Downplaying the severity of the fracture of the Canada/US relationship

Those of us that have refused to call it the Gulf of America, knew that a dictator doesn't stop at just one. Non-government associated mapping companies that capitulated to the arbitrary decision by one man (on an international body of water), enabled the dictator to continue - as he's doing now.

Glad we walked away. Any deal the US makes holds as much water as 1-ply toilet paper. Carney recognized the bullshit US tactics: "However, last-minute changes in the U.S. proposed terms were unfair, uneconomic, and called into question the reliability of any deal." www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/stat...

Statement by Prime Minister Carney on Canada-U.S. trade negotiations

We have recognised from the beginning that America has changed, and that we will not return to our old relationship. Our government understood, before many, that America is altering all its trade rela...

Whatever deal Carney makes to bide more time to strengthen international trade relationships (let's be real, deals with the US hold about as much water as 1-ply toilet paper anyway), the damage is already done. Many Canadians (incl many private businesses) will continue to boycott.

Can't wait to see all the MAGAts come out with their support for North Korea. I'm sure they'll also believe it when Supreme Leader Trump claims he does not poop. If you've ever felt negatively toward a country that sided with a hostile regime, you now understand how many people feel about the US.

Truth social post from Trump.

It's not a trade war, surreeeee. It's just Trump arbitrarily adding tariffs in response to action Canada took in response to his tariffs. Then irony is that there are many people like me which will just continue doing what we can to boycott US products on our own volition. Fuck Supporting the US.

Is California going to reciprocate by buying Canadian steel, aluminium, lumber, autos, etc. that have been heavily & illegally (under CUSMA) tariffed by your federal government & cost tens of thousands of Canadian jobs? Yeah, I thought not. Until those tariffs go, the booze stays off the shelves.
