One undeniable thing about LLMs that I can’t wrap my head around is that for the first time, we have digital systems with truly complex emergent behaviours. Not like system dynamics in the computing context, but action-oriented behaviours or constructs like j space. Absolutely bizarre

Well, incredibly enough, some awesome guy named Jules spotted my bike and tipped me off by text, so I ran over to where he saw it (only ~6 blocks from my office!) and I recovered it! Uncomfortable confrontation with the thief for sure, but I'll take it. What a relief. Here's to another 12000km!

I just realized I’m like the human version of a quantized model. I might seem kind of smart or capable sometimes but when you really get down to it, there’s a lot missing. I’m a passable solution for simple tasks, though. I’m also less expensive than real smart people

I think I've used AWS for all of one thing where it actually made sense in like 15 years. What a masochistic way to deploy and host something that 1–1000 people will use and could be served on a tamagotchi instead
