It's asking a lot for me to cheer for Chris Kreider, but I'll give it a shot. Won't take much for him to land in my doghouse, but he's more than welcome to have a great year and redeem himself some.

8 started grade 3 this week, and there are a couple of notable oddities with his class. Curious if any NB parents have encountered these: Oddity #1: His class makeup is half grade 4s, half grade 3s. Oddity #2: He's the only grade 3 boy in his class. The rest are girls. Wassup wit dat?👀

A particularly productive Sunday. Mowed the lawn Pulled the weeds Cleaned the long overdue garage gutters (things were growing in them...) Binned the long overdue branch debris Harvested much of the herb garden Bought milk crates And now making chicken parm for the 1st time. Still groceries to come

Watching some King Gizzard @ their Field of Vision festival last weekend before work. "One time we started jammin, and then we kept jammin, and the next thing we knew, we were jammin! And then we made an album with Billy Strings." PUT THAT THING OUT RIGHT NOW!

My kids responding to "How's your day going?": 11, yesterday: Sat on a wasp in the car & got stung. The wasp did not survive & 8 buried it in the garden. 8, today: Put soap in a bouncy castle to make it slippery, slipped & fell, got soap down throat. Never a dull moment with these two.

So I've known for basically my whole life that when my dad & his 7 brothers were little kids, granddad would pick them up by the ears to check if they were good for rabbits. If they didn't cry, they were good for rabbits. What does good for rabbits mean? Who knows! A toughness measure, perhaps?

Welp, 8's last soccer practice of this summer's session was canceled due to today's rain. Bit of a bummer because he loves it so much (and I love to watch him play), but I could use the extra hour this evening so 🤷
