Next on the wildlife bingo card: Another one of the Ugly Five, a spotted hyena.

Continuing my interest in sampling the local wildlife.... I prefer kudu steak to gnu, which was a bit too tough and stringy.

Also ticks off elephants, giraffes, oryx, jackals, herdebeest and a rhino on the wildlife bingo card.

Half an hour into our first drive and we have seen ostrich, zebra and a snoozing lion.

Today's wildlife bingo: Assorted antelope (exact type unknown), buffalo and baboons, wandering warthogs and a solitary ostrich. That was just on the main road north. (Cows, donkeys, horses and goats don't count as you can see them at home)

Given the air traffic control horrors, being an hour late rather than cancelled is a result. The connection in JNB will be tight but there are other onward flights.
