I’ve been reading a book by a new author and at one point they identify that the real magic in a guitar player’s feel is all in the *right hand* (for a right handed player of course)… I nearly jumped for joy as I have always thought this and will in fact die on that hill.

Went to see my old pal Roger Eno in concert tonight at Union Chapel. Sublime. In a strange twist I also managed to win his sandals and socks in an audience auction.

Just got my 1980s Citizen “Ana Digi Temp” watch back from the jewellers with a new battery. I have come to a local cafe to trawl through the epic Japanese English instructions on how to reset all the displays and dials 😂

A silver 1980s Citizen “ana digi temp” watchInstructions: ‹Setting Time> (1) Press and hold button ® for 2 seconds or more while in normal Time display. The "Seconds" will start flashing, indicating that the watch is in adjustment mode. (2) Each press on button ® in adjustment mode changes flashing section in the order of [Second → Minute → Hour → 12-hour/24-hour → Analog 1 adjustment → Analog 2 adjustment]. When did Waze get so utterly shit? Diverted via a closed road to a closed motorway FFS. Spent half the fucking night driving down pitch black country lanes. Clueless bastard of a thing - it used to be good, didn’t it? I’d have got home quicker following a map of Middle Earth.

Who *doesn’t* need to go to a games arcade that has classics like “Frenzied Dog Attack”, “Divorce”, “Dead or Bad” and of course “Meat or Pet” A very fun evening at Novelty Automation in London. I love that a place like this can exist in 2026.

I wouldn’t claim to be a diehard Nick Cave fan. I like him and have a few albums. But the gig at Preston Park last night was one of the best I’ve ever seen. A band playing as one being, Nick like a cross between God and the devil, the best outdoor sound imaginable - all shared with my best friends ♥️

I had this guitar made for me in the 90s by Ernie, one of the guys that worked in the Lowden factory. It’s a friend’s son’s 18th today. He’s so into music and he fell in love with it, so today I’ll give it to him so it can have another life. Farewell old friend ♥️

A handmade electric guitar - 3/4 size, with a dark rosewood fretboard, and flamed maple top, 2 humbucker pickups, black hardware. It has a small E as the makers mark on the headstock.

#ChurchOfRockAndRoll #69 Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. The Jimmywebb, all mimsy, came whiffling through the tulgey wood. Rested he by the Tumtum tree and sat a while in thought. Wichita lineman up and away he chortled in his joy.
