"The Navy is a capable organization. Its budget is $300b a year. It is capable of resupplying an aircraft carrier...If the people in charge are using up sailors as carelessly as they are using up munitions, it’s because they don’t care enough to do otherwise." www.thebulwark.com/p/the-troops...

The Troops Deserve Better than Hegseth

The president, the secretary of defense, and the top Navy officials are blithely ignoring the suffering of the sailors at sea.

Sort of wild that Republicans are currently trying to confirm as Attorney General a man who has just been chastised by a court for failing to do as the court ordered. Sounds like another incompetent hire by the Trump regime.

1. Todd, you said you would provide documentation proving the redacted names are victims. You didn't. Instead, you just said they are victims based on a lawyer telling you that. Therefore, you FAILED to comply with the court order. 2/

In its Order of July 25, 2026, the Court ordered the
Defendant to provide documentation supporting his
representation that certain names that have been
redacted in the published version of certain documents
are the names of victims. See Order, ECF No. 23 at 2.
The Defendant did not provide such documentation; rather, he asserted that certain redacted text
contains the identities of victims or potential
victims whose counsel have contacted the government
and requested that the persons be treated as victims.
See Def.’s Notice of Compliance with Court Order, ECF
No. 25 at 2-3. The Defendant’s assertions do not
comply with the Court’s Order, which requires
documentation to support the assertions. The Defendant
shall be prepared to discuss what documentation he
will provide to support his assertions.
