«Every House We Built» by Exploring Birdsong - came in the post today and it’s a beautiful record. Powerful rhythmic vocal harmony and a very British feel :-)They’re touring the UK in September but it’s probably a bit hard for me to justify flying over.
Finished another book today:) «because I don’t know what you mean and what you don’t» by Josie Long. She’s best known as a comedian but these short stories are beautifully written and very observant. Very enjoyable.

It looks like only one from this signal but these things often take time to get cleared up. Big signal on station IU.ULN (Mongolia) so it is a big earthquake. Thanks to Andrew for the periodic reminder. Nice photo, but I think these are the heaters to provide UF6 to an enrichment facility. The storage container is the cylinder that can just be seen inside the first open heater. But Andrew's point still stands. Nobody is going to backpack these out.
Andrew Facini@andrewfacini.com · 4mo agoTo be clear about the actual, physical uranium that would need to be removed from Iran - it's not in tidy, safeish ingots. It's held as a super dangerous gas, probably stored in vessels like these, located way underground. Nobody is just taking it.
Has any government considered a clickbait tax? Anybody who posts on social media where you have to click a link to find any useful information about the theme alluded to by the post has to pay 50% of all revenue arising from that post.

I started yesterday around 6pm and saw I and II and have just watched III now. Many years since I last saw it and it’s marvellous. I always forget just how thrilling the Mount Doom scenes are towards the end - even though I know how it ends it is still edge-of-seat stuff. Photo a Tolkein gesture.

What a phenomenal concert! Beat live in Oslo 2026-07-23 - playing the music of 1980s King Crimson. Steve Vai, Adrian Belew, Danny Carey, and Tony Levin. Power, passion, and precision! And a lot of fun!
«The Light Princess» - A musical by Tori Amos and Samuel Adamson. This has taken me a while to get into (I can’t work to it!) but it is my current «have breakfast to» music downstairs and it really is quite magical in places.
Another incredibly beautiful record featuring Torbjørn Dyrud, this time on piano with Tora Augestad (voice) and Mathias Eick (trumpet). «I et landskap»/«In a landscape» Melancholy yet bright and inspiring. Really can’t recommend this highly enough. A huge loss for Norwegian music😢
