Might have just bought a ticket to see the High Llamas play Hawaii in full at the National Concert Hall in Dublin next year. Absolute top tier dream gig 🥰

I love it when footballers immerse themselves in the culture/music scene of the city they are living in which explains why Sean Clare and Theo Archibald are by far my two favourite Leyton Orient players (not to mention their footballing ability!). I wish Sean all the best with his music project!
Some footballers have a lot more going on than just football. Sean Clare is one of those footballers. We spoke to a player who has become part of the fabric at #LOFC by bringing so much more than just what he does on the pitch.
Libraries are so great. Also, I recently discovered the Libraries app where you can see in real time which libraries have copies of books you're looking for (which I then cycle to, sometimes in a different borough, in order to borrow).
Now that the local library is open five days a week I am using the local library more often. What a joy.

This is a question I ask myself pretty much every day.
A macho culture of performative selfishness might start on the roads, through racing, rolling coal, ever bigger SUVs ... But it doesn't end there. If we want to live in a decent country which values human life, we need to change this culture. My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Really regretting not buying a ticket for Wendy Eisenberg at Cafe Oto in November.
Primal Scream playing XTRMNTR in full at Outernet Live. A great show and an album that holds up pretty well over 25 years on. Dystopia, vitriol and confrontation (although Bobby Gillespie is a far more relaxed frontman these days compared to what he was when the album originally came out).
Possibly my second favourite Yo La Tengo album (which therefore means I'm allowed to own it both on vinyl and CD).
🗓️ 20th anniversary! (September 12, 2006) 💿 Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass 🎶 We were young/ No one could figure out/ Things we said/ There was so much to laugh about #YoLaTengo

Michael Shannon, Jason Narducy and friends marking the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.'s Lifes Rich Pageant by playing it in full tonight at KOKO. This was a tremendous performance followed by a magnificent set of deep cuts and personal favourites from across most of R.E.M.'s albums.

Well, this new song by Neil Young is 11 minutes of pure loveliness. Harvest Moon vibes. youtu.be/JZnzpxrHM4M?...

The 40th anniversary of Paul Simon’s Grammy-winning album is celebrated with flair and panache at the BBC Proms, with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Nu Civilisation Orchestra and a cast of vocalists

Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the Nu Civilisation Orchestra, Laura Mvula, James Bay, Flyte and director Peter Edwards celebrating the 40th anniversary of Graceland by Paul Simon at the Royal Albert Hall last night. A fun show (the 23:30 finish, less fun).
Well, this new track by Moses Boyd is a bit of a 'banger'. youtu.be/WvlN8M99wDQ?...

This sounded incredible on the radio. Another I'm regretting not going to...
Rachmaninov’s ‘Paganini’ Variations review – Søndergård stuns with Shostakovich Kirill Gerstein's revelatory Rachmaninov and a visceral Symphony No. 11 make this one of the BBC Proms' most gripping evenings

Some photos from last night's excellent Prom. City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, CBSO Chorus, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, conductor Kazuki Yamada and pianists Lucas & Arthur Jussen playing Sinfonietta & Concerto for Two Pianos in D minor by Francis Poulenc and Harmonium by John Adams.
Phwoar, this Respighi Prom is immense (and I'm only listening on the radio).
Urgh. Just tried to get tickets for Yo La Tengo's Hanukkah shows but all 8 dates appear to have sold out in under a minute 😩
Rest in peace KK and thanks for the memories. Can't think of many people who had more of a positive impact on my life ❤️💔
Caroline and My New Band Believe at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of Rough Trade's 50th anniversary celebrations. Two superb sets from two brilliant, genre-blurring ensembles.
Been a couple of years since I've seen a gig at the QEH. Looking forward to seeing Caroline and My New Band Believe tonight.
