I need to reevaluate a few things content-wise, so no streams the rest of this week. I spent the past few months trying a bunch of new things. Some worked, and some didn't, so I'm taking this week to reevaluate what I'm doing and make a better plan for myself going forward.

I felt this in my soul. Not only is Grant right in that reporting on accessibility in the gaming industry is vanishing, even disabled voices like myself are as well. The amount of misinformation and lack of education on what gaming accessibility is was ever apparent even as recent as this past week

I've read so many "hot takes" about accessibility in my ten-year career; this, though, takes the absolute cake. No, accessibility is not responsible for closing studios, wasting millions, or causing layoffs. Don't be like this guy.

A screenshot of a LinkedIn post by Richard Boisvert a Principal Technical Cinematic Artist who said: It's an unbelievable thing to see that menu narration is enabled by default in the new Halo game, a feature that caters to blind people. What Halo Studios / 343 is essentially saying is this: "We need this option on by default because a blind person is incapable of navigating the menu to find and enable it. However, once enabled, they can play the game just fine." This is the end-state of the inclusive and accessibility mafia. They cater so hard to the edge-case, that they actually make unreasonable defaults to the majority. Why don't they also enable the colorblind filters too? What's the difference? It doesn't matter that you can "just turn it off" or that it's "no big deal". The fact that they went with that as the DEFAULT is insanity. It shows how warped the frame-of-mind and worldview is of these people. This shows, by proxy, the beurocratic bloat of AAA. These are the kinds of decisions and infrastructures that kill companies, waste millions, cause layoffs, and I am sick of seeing it. We are not in a gaming crash because of "greed", we are in a crash because of stupid shit like this.

I miss travelling to events. With MagicCon, GCX, ComicCon, and GenCon all happening recently or about to start, I've been getting really bad FOMO. Even missing SGF and several gaming preview events has been rough. I didn't realize how much of a hit to my mental health this has been.

It's weird for me to say this, but I played Halo on a PS5 Pro! Gorgeous UE5 glow-up, screen reader + remapping + custom difficulty presets… but it’s mostly the same accessibility from 6 years ago in Infinite with minor improvements. youtu.be/_hX4rcfbeL4
