Harasser of parkers in the SF bike lanes. Supporter of leftie causes and unions. Wonderer of why co-ops aren't still a thing. Also a teeny tech CEO. "Less Than Zero is a Christmas Movie"
There are two wolves inside LinkedIn and one of them is very anti-AI apparently.
The data center opposition is fascinating. My attitude, as someone in tech, is sort of anti-data center. There's lots of stuff good about the internet, but we're living in the internet's world now and it kinda sucks. So why not. Stop building data centers. Let's try that.
"We added AI to our debugger!" Cool, cool. Does it crash less? "..." "We added AI to our debugger!"
I wonder if the Left can dislike Gavin Newsom without getting really gross about it. <checks feed> Nope.
Damn. I can't sum up my thoughts on TED talks any more perfectly than this.
Let's keep taking away streets until they give up.
A proposal to reopen S.F.'s Great Highway, now home to Sunset Dunes Park, to cars on weekdays has qualified for the November election. This will be the 3rd time in 4 years that San Franciscans have voted on whether to allow cars on the highway. @sfchronicle.com www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/g...
I mean, ya gotta justify it to the funding agencies with words like "studying ocean habitats" but we all know this deserves funding because it's objectively awesome.
With a flap of its wings, something resembling a bird dives into the water, swims around and soars back into the skies. But it’s not a bird, it’s a robot — and it could be a big help in studying ocean habitats, researchers said. nyti.ms/4wJfkDX
I often get an error when I try to use some random AI add-in. It might be an extension of my power over skateboarders. No skateboarder can land a trick in my presence. I've never seen one succeed in person and suspect I never will.
The discourse on this is going to be unmoored from popular opinion.
Majority of Americans support banning social media for kids under 16
Across major demographic and partisan groups, more Americans support than oppose banning those under 16 from using social media.

This doesn't happen when we nominate women. <remembers Kristen Sinema> Goddamnit.
Graham Platner, the Democratic Senate nominee in Maine, said he was taking time to “reflect” after a woman accused him of sexual assault in a report published on Monday. Platner called the allegation “false.”
It's wild to me how anti-historical people are. "If Ford had asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse." Yeah, no. There were cars around, but they were expensive. Ford was one of a number trying to make them cheaper. He was just successful at it.
You know, you really couldn't make Birth of a Nation today.
Are we gonna designate a day to laugh at Apple over the Vision Pro debacle or do we just do it separately on our own time?
A rent freeze on rent control units is a pretty mundane technocratic solution.... which means a lot to the people affected, of course. But it's relatively small. Nonetheless, they made the promise, delivered on it and are now making a big deal about it. Brilliant.
Serving up a rent freeze.
<looks around to make sure no one's nearby> Jimmy Carter was also bad at his job.
Sat next to a couple of AI employees at dinner. I wanted to give them advice they wouldn't listen to. "Save most of your windfall. This probably won't happen again for you." "If you need a next job, it won't net you as much. Get used to that idea now." "If you can't keep up, make cheaper friends."
I cancelled a Chase account a couple decades ago because they pissed me off. Now we're getting an account for the company and they are failing to impress once again.
This weirdly doesn't bother me much. Because if the White House lawn is open for business, how about Gather of the Juggalos 2029?
Meanwhile at the White Trash White House last night the main event wasn’t even in the ring. Fights were breaking out on the lawn everywhere under the light of fireworks. Not since the White House burned down in 1814 have we seen so many battles. Sign! 🤡
Going to lock the "You couldn't make Blazing Saddles today" discourse in a room with Stop! That! Train! and see what happens.
Why even today, right now, some chemist is developing the drug Elon Musk is going to overdose on.
Scott Wiener has been much more effective than Connie Chan on progressive priorities, but is somehow not a progressive. Yeah, that's why labels aren't that useful.
I still weirded out that so many progressives voted for Tom Steyer.
What a waste. Why do they always come here? We already have decent candidates. Move to a purple state and spend some of that money there.
Here’s what Saikat Chakrabarti got wrong about S.F. in his bid to replace Nancy Pelosi
Saikat Chakrabarti did not account for the fact that San Francisco has its own set of rules when it comes to running for office, Joe Garofoli writes.

Hey man, I respect your love of Tom Steyer. But I'm not voting for someone who's first elective office would be governor. He says good words, but we have no idea how he'd govern or if he even could. And who knows what the skeletons are. Run for dog catcher, my man. Then we'll talk.
