The data center opposition is fascinating. My attitude, as someone in tech, is sort of anti-data center. There's lots of stuff good about the internet, but we're living in the internet's world now and it kinda sucks. So why not. Stop building data centers. Let's try that.

I often get an error when I try to use some random AI add-in. It might be an extension of my power over skateboarders. No skateboarder can land a trick in my presence. I've never seen one succeed in person and suspect I never will.

It's wild to me how anti-historical people are. "If Ford had asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse." Yeah, no. There were cars around, but they were expensive. Ford was one of a number trying to make them cheaper. He was just successful at it.

A rent freeze on rent control units is a pretty mundane technocratic solution.... which means a lot to the people affected, of course. But it's relatively small. Nonetheless, they made the promise, delivered on it and are now making a big deal about it. Brilliant.
