Famously late adopter and probably only here for the cycling of all sorts. I'm funnier AND weirder on Tumblr, but aren't we all? Co-captain of the #tallboypeloton pep squad! Messy maker of mixtapes. I dance and dj and write and disco 🪩

Congrats to Pogacar. He has managed something unique that nobody else has done before him... I have officially cared WAY more about the fifa world cup this summer than I have about the tour de france. And that's an impressive generational first that shall never be forgotten.

But if your foster kids kept doing crack cocaine in their rooms repeatedly on your watch, you probably wouldn't be allowed as a foster parent again after that, would you? And yet here we are Mauro...

Screenshot from Instagram of a Cycling Weekly headline with a picture of and quote from Mauro Gianetti (Team UAE, former Saunier Duval DS) claiming he was a "victim" of his past team's doping scandals, saying "you don't know what your children do in their bedrooms".

Apropos of nothing and everything... Pog really is the Messi of pro cycling, isn't he? And now everyone should have realised that that's not a compliment... It's quite accurate tho.

I kinda hate playing the role of Cassandra, but I'm legit counting the days until I can all yell "I f'n told you so" into the void that used to be my favourite sport. Because it feels very Cassandra to watch the media uncritically glaze Gianetti and his genocide-facilitating regime sponsored team.😬

Also, additionally, cheering for Pog (the overwhelming favourite most winningest rider on the richest most winningest team) also just feels like the blandest possible version of kicking in an open door... There's not really anything at stake result wise for him and as such, nothing to cheer for. 😵🤷🏻‍♀️

...and your cycling team, cycling race and a ridiculous amount of UCI championships recently and in the next 5 years! Lappartient basically making the UAE regime a partner of UCI is legit one the grossest thing to happen to the sport of cycling in a long time. (And we've had a LOT of gross things!)

When we look at this massacre and many more perpetrated by the RSF, let's be clear who funds, equips & sustains them. It's the UAE. Yes, the same UAE that might own your football club, fly you on your holidays, invests in our national infrastructure. If boycotts work, we should be boycotting now.

I really like Bisiaux but this is actually embarrassing... It's the 2nd to last day to do anything in this race. Should everyone just stand still and wait for 3+ minutes? (Alternatively: you can either complain or stretch the car assisted chase back norms to the limit, you don't get to do both.)

🇫🇷 Leo Bisiaux questions rivals’ response after Seixas crash 🗣️ "It was a bit disappointing in terms of sporting fairness. All the teams started riding. Strangely, everybody wanted the stage win today, while yesterday nobody did." 📰 www.domestiquecycling.com/en/news/bisi... 📸 Cor Vos

No cycling commentators, a 19 yr old looking pale, bloody and absolutely ready to pass out after a hard race where he crashed isn't "heroic" or "superhuman". It's dumb at best.

So... According to DK comms the important discussion is "why didn't the peloton wait" (why should they? Also see: break formation phase. Also see: why should they?) instead of other topics related to a certain chase back today? That's a hilarious set of priorities.

4 different riders (no mannequins!) from 4 different teams almost certainly wearing the 4 different jerseys on the podium tomorrow is my most favourite thing out of many good things about this end-result.

I am verge of tears angry about FDJ and Specialized and Shimano turning Demi Vollering's amazing career story into an AI video. This could have been a breakthrough moment for women's cycling and the recognition she deserves. Instead it is slop.

There's an ad in rotation on HBO's giro interruptions set to Courtney Barnett's Pedestrian at Best and I'm like... Did they listen to the lyrics? "Put me on a pedestal, I'll only disappoint you"... Quite a choice for a commercial! 😆 (No idea what it's for, I restart the stream at the ad breaks 🤷🏻‍♀️)
