Mount Shasta is ENORMOUS. I couldn't believe we were 30 minutes out from Portland and still in California

Well that's that. Stuff is on its way, cats are rehomed, last of the money changed hands. Nothing left to do but wait. In 24 hours and 20 minutes I will be touching down in Portland.
One thing that does make me excited about finding a more practical job with a livable wage once I get up to Portland is being able to start lowering the prices on my commissions again. It's just more fun when the stakes aren't so high.
Down payment for the moving company has been made, flight's been booked, all that's left to do is sign the lease and I'll be on my way. Move came to $4310, flight came to $448, and deposit on the apartment is $1000. Job search is still ongoing so anything to offset the costs is a huge boon.
So hey, if anyone wants to help guarantee me a place to live, I'm about $4000 short. Once I'm actually there, getting on my own feet should be significantly less complicated. I just need my foot in the door and a place to land. www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...
OH, I WAS SO EXCITED I FORGOT TO UPDATE HERE I got approved for an apartment yesterday and will be signing the paperwork by the end of the week. 🎉 Flight's booked. August 1st, I leave California as a resident for the last time. o7
I have 21 days until I have to leave this place whether I have a place to go or not. If you don't have money but know someone in the Portland area who is looking for a roommate, please send them my way. Leads are worth their weight in gold right now.

I've got 29 days to find a place to live. I'm looking for jobs and apartments in Portland. Financially I'm in a little better place, but a roommate would go a long way to stretch that budget until I can get established.
With that said, I'm still looking for space in PORTLAND OR SEATTLE METRO AREAS by July 31st There's a strong likelihood I'm going to have to leave two of my cats with my aunt until I can get settled, so it would just be me and Avery. My budget's $900 for at least 4 months while I find work.

Got a quote for an interim move to my aunt's place while I try and find a place up north. It's not terrible (provided they don't hit traffic) but it's still a chunk out of the budget I'd rather not have to make if I can find a place up north before my move out date.
Here's where things stand currently: The plan is to accept $750 for the house and in exchange I have until the 31st of July to pack and get everything out of here. I'm working on finding work in the Portland area. I still have no housing lined up. www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...

With things stabilized for now, we can get back to focusing on an estate sale but I'll be lucky if it pulls in $1000. My budget is still solid but every extra move and storage facility between here and a place to stay in Portland is more money out of pocket, so that's the biggest hangup right now.
God, not having any leads whatsoever on a place to live as the deadline to get out of here is closing in is really doing numbers on me. Endless stress and money sinks until I can just get a single foothold somewhere in the PNW. That's all I need is a place to land.
Park manager served me a (potentially illegal) five day vacate and surrender order and my sister may wind up selling the house from under me even while I'm trying to seek legal counsel. Shit's hitting the fan way faster than expected and I can't keep up.
As the landlord is likely going to start increasing pressure to force me out of here, I need to bump this up to emergency levels of urgency. I might have only 2-3 months to find a new place to live even while I'm trying to pack up and sort through things by myself. www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...
On the subject of urgency, I was passed over for the room I was in talks for so I'm putting out feelers for anyone in the Portland or Seattle metropolitan areas who are looking for a roommate. Must be nearby transit and okay with three (indoor) cats.

I have enough put aside for a few months rent once I move but the sooner I can get my housing situation figured out the sooner I can get my work situation sorted. I just physically do not have time for a job while I'm dealing with sorting and packing and selling this place by myself.

I reckon I've got until about August to find a place and September to be out of here. I have enough money for a few months rent but the sooner I know where I'm going to be living, the sooner I can start looking for work because I Literally Do Not Have Time For A Job at the moment
Heh, yeah.... you could say I have a ~formal~ art education

I just had a realization and oh god of fuck oh jesus christ
If worse comes to worse though and I can't get more than a few grand, I'm not even going to break even on the rent I'm having to pay. After mom's life insurance, I have $4000 in my bank account and $5000 set aside for the move. Rent is $760/mo, electricity is $165. bsky.app/profile/stea...

So things might be becoming critical a lot sooner than I anticipated. If I can't find a place very soon, I'm likely going to wind up on the street.

Going through mom's room clearing out stuff and found a "Most important things about me" worksheet I did when I was like 5 or 6. I had apparently just scored 130 on an IQ test at school and bragged about it no less than three times which is very funny, but one of the lines was a thing I always do
Creating art and bringing beauty into the world by my own hand is what drives me. It is everything to me, and outsourcing that to an AI which can neither think nor feel nor love nor hate goes against everything I love about creating art. My art is an extension of me, and a machine can never be that
As if there weren't enough to stress over, I got my first instance of someone asking if my art was AI 🙃 Lemme be ABSOLUTELY clear: The act of creation is what compels me to make art. It is the expression of 20 years of honing my skill & vision. I CAN NOT & WILL NOT EVER outsource that to a machine
Additionally, if anybody in the West Riverside area of California could use a temporary roommate and doesn't mind cats, or can at least help me with moving my stuff in the near future, I'd love to get in touch.
