@mofox.bsky.social want to give a shout out to his beautifully talented individual. The design on these blankets is stunning and I love the color combos! I need to save up for another. I'm debating on macaque or nezha. My friend got one too and she wanted me to tell you thank you!

Just some small snippets into the creative process. Drawing out patterns, shaving down the faux fur to the correct length, and trying not to waste too much material in the process. More in alt text.

The fluff layers of a Little style plush. I prefer to use 1" pike length, or teddy fur for most of my plush projects. Beaver length, while shorter, has a different texture to it; smoother, softer, and the mesh has more stretch. I prefer the textures between the body and head to match to keep a consistent feel to the fur. Plus it gives me leeway if I need longer body fur in spots. Long pile furs are usually reserved for larger plushies or for longer hairstyles. Thougb they tend to be a bit unruly for my tastes. I also do some preemptive shaping of the fur around the face and cheeks. Though I usually have to go back and do some final clean up. Once I have everything shaped out I can mix and match colors and combine pieces to give spots/stripes, etc. The real challenge is how tiny the bodies are; they're about 3.5" (~9cm) tall. The head takes up over half the plush's overall size for that chibi look. Drawing out the less fluffy bits of our monkey friend. When using minky fabrics, I find I have to give myself a bit more of a seem edge as the fabric behaves differently than fleece. I also have to remember which direction I place the patterns, as minky has a very subtle pile (fured length). I prefer to have the pile going up on the face to continue the flow of fur up and over the head. Trying to maintain a small consistency of the direction fur naturally grows. To prevent wasting fabric, I've found the squares I cut for the mouth embroidery fits the rest of the pattern quite nicely. Which is great for organizing multiple plushies at once. At least till the faux fur starts flying. This plush only has two pieces in skin tone for the ears. As the backs will be pink to match the face mask.
