We are thrilled to announce that the first patient has been enrolled in ACCESS-STRATA, the clinical study of STRATA-FIT, at @umcutrecht.bsky.social. Following the Site Initiation Visits that began in March, this marks a key milestone for the study.
The #WorldImmunisationWeek reminds us the importance of understanding the immune system 🔬 We study #D2TRA - autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the body's own tissues - using federated real-world data to find better treatment strategies.
Federated research needs more than algorithms - it needs coordination. 🔬 STRATA-FIT team has introduced bi-weekly node admin calls & weekly algorithm development meetings to keep our multi-hospital network running smoothly. Follow our open-source progress 👇 (link in the comments)
For the pilot clinical study, blood samples will be collected & stored in each center. The samples will be centrally analyzed to identify markers linked to D2T RA. This work may help explain why some patients don't respond to treatment and support future improvements in prediction and care.
We will develop a digital decision-support tool for healthcare professionals to: -Alert clinicians when a patient may have D2T RA -Support personalised treatment based on patient subtype, clinical characteristics & patient preference This tool will be evaluated in a pilot clinical study.
Site Initiation Visits are taking place in March & patient recruitment starts soon. Phase 1: We're observing D2TRA patients, standard treatment, diagnostic, monitoring tests they receive, & their specific needs which will be used for personalised treatment strategies in phase 2.
STRATA-FIT uses real-world health data & clinical research to better understand and improve care for people with D2T RA across Europe. These data include information collected during treatments, disease activity, healthcare visits, and patient-reported outcomes over time.
