Re-reading McLuhan's Understanding Media (1964)--since I mentioned it briefly in my 4-part essay on otaku culture and had only skimmed a relevant portion enough to make sure I was smarter than a robot--and his ability to be completely right one sentence and immediately wrong the next is unmatched.

say what you will about 'the process' but there are few things as edifying as nailing the exact line you want and then several more in succession
