if you are a baby digital artist and you do not know about: -layer modes -alpha lock (sometimes transparency lock or opacity lock) -clipping layers -gradient maps google all those things with the name of your chosen software. your entire life will change overnight

Reasons for writers to use "big" words: 1) The "big" word conveys a nuance of meaning that the "normal" word may not, being too vague 2) The "big" word sounds cool (as in, the word actually does sound cool and not like the writer is trying to get sapiosexually laid) 3) You fucking feel like it
