Just swapped my laptop's screen for an older screen. It's entered the next stage of deterioration where instead of just three black lines at the bottom, it's now starting to mirror colors from the rest of the screen on 8 lines. Super distracting.

Edge's Acrobat-powered "new PDF viewer" sucks. It keeps on showing blank pages or very low resolution pages and takes forever to rerender. Disabled via flags, and I hope that remains an option.

Fun fact, it takes UPS three months to move a customs invoice between accounts, and when they notify you it's done, it doesn't mean that it's actually charged, for that it's another further 15 business days. What ancient system are they using that it takes so long?

Is it me or did the recent version of macOS Tahoe remove keeping the mouse cursor constrained to the curved corners of the screen? I swear that was a thing a month ago. Maybe it auto disables after connecting an external monitor?

Today in "common SoC has old software everything", trying to get an old version of GCC set up on my MacBook Air, but I guess AArch64 wasn't that common back then, so no prebuilt versions. Now trying to see if I can somehow run Linaro ABE to build it for me.

Steam Deck issues: apparently if you have WiFi with odd restrictions (think of certain countries), the thing can just get stuck and not boot because Steam will just keep on churning instead of timing out. Whoever designed the boot process should stop assuming the internet is reliable.

Here's the important part. For some reason this is not mentioned in any of their social media threads, causing people to wonder why "people on those platforms deserve access to information" but not people on Twitter. Don't know why they chose to omit it; I see it as gross miscommunication.

Those tweets garnered somewhere between 50 and 100 million impressions per month. By 2024, our 2,500 X posts generated around 2 million impressions each month. Last year, our 1,500 posts earned roughly 13 million impressions for the entire year. To put it bluntly, an X post today receives less than 3% of the views a single tweet delivered seven years ago.
