An interior shot of a stylish sitting room with a painting that I made :-)
The painting is a pixelated abstract in blues, reds and greys leaning on a black wall.

So happy to be participating in the Oolite Arts Live.In.Art Residency for 2025!! I'll be spending the year in Miami meeting people, experimenting and testing new work. Luxury! :-)

What to say when someone says your talented It implies you ha ven’t had to work for anything. That your not that smart because it’s something that comes naturally? “Skill is earned. It’s learned and practiced and hard-won. It’s insulting to call a professional talented.”

I am exploring the materiality of 3d printing with this set of works. I call them Process paintings, 2024, PLA thermoplastic. They are one off prints. I have made 6 so far but I'm going to make some using different colours.

a 3d printed sculpture/painting 20 x 15cm in size. black frame grey object. it shows the patterns of the support inside the 3d print. a 3d printed sculpture/painting 20 x 15cm in size. transparent frame and object. it shows the patterns of the support inside the 3d print.

Documenting recent paintings in the studio. I am looking at extreme close ups of digitised images of objects, landscapes and people, as a metaphor for hidden information/aspects of something in plain sight. Sort of like a type of camouflage, so close that you can't tell what it is anymore.

Two paintings displayed side by side. the paintings are pixelated dipictions of extreme close ups. You can't tell what they are.A photo of a painting that is a pixelated dipiction of an extreme close up. You can't tell what it is.

'We Are Data', my first digital combine made in Aug 2022. An ongoing project that joins a variety of different mediums to examine data I gather from ML platforms, big data, and the physical world. It talks about using data to explore what it means to be human. Inspired by the book by Cheney-Lippold.

A hybrid artwork described as a digital combine. It has a painting, a large wall decal, 2 x RGB LED matrix panels run by raspberry pi microprocessors, sitting on white floating shelves, a QR code.

I haven't really participated in social media for ages. I usually just read other people's posts and lurk in the background a lot. Mainly because of the trolls etc. But it seems really nice here atm. So... I thought I might start by talking about what I am working on at the moment. 1/

an example of a digital combine that uses various media, including an NFT as a conceptual glue to make one object. This one has a painting, wall decal, hdmi display with a looped video and sound, a QR code that leads to an AR of a rat sitting in front of the work.Bild
