Find likeminded buddies, support and critique for one another - it's the very best thing about being an writer! Remember, everyone works differently so don't worry too much about rules like 'you have to write everyday' (apart from that one about not using AI - that's a given) #ukteenchat ⌛

I'm super busy so have to write as and when in fits and starts, usually in a disorganised non-chronological order (and not daily unless I'm on a deadline 😱). I can't read my own writing (years of working in NHS!) so I type straight to laptop, usually on the sofa with a dog on my feet #ukteenchat ⌛

I had the luxury of pleasing myself with book one and even the second was mostly drafted. #Neverlast was written from scratch to a v short timeline and I was a bit shocked when my publisher asked me for an outline first - I was like: What? You expect me to know what the ending is??! 😮 #ukteenchat

Ha, I am pretty uncoordinated at the best of times and parkour is far too terrifying to appeal 😂. If I knew for certain I couldn't seriously injury myself though, I might be persuaded to try paragliding or black run skiiing #ukteenchat ⌛

I learnt a bit about parkour. Some of those YouTube videos are proper scary! Not everyone I approached was receptive - worried I'd portray parkour as risky and reckless. But some guys from a NYC collective were so helpful - even down to advising what brands my guys would be wearing! #ukteenchat ⌛1/2

I like to skate around the edges of fantasy, especially in a contemporary setting and I'm fond of an 'ordinary' MC - an 'unchosen one', if you like. The idea of a mortal teen coping with being the odd one out in a (near) immortal family just popped into my head! #ukteenchat ⌛
