One of our members spotted these while out on a walk in Ipswich today. Interesting.
Suffolk Anarchists

Mutual aid and big ideas in East Anglia. North of Essex. No you've gone too far that's Norfolk. To the right of Cambridge ... theeeere you go. Yeah that's us, looks like a medieval shoe someone left lying around. (pic: Abbey Gate, if you know you know)
As the days get shorter we're grabbing our popcorn and settling in for radical film nights at Fonnereau Road, starting with an Icelandic-Ukrainian comedy drama about a choir conductor who goes eco-guerrilla on a Rio Tinto aluminium plant. Afterwards there's tea, cake, and a natter about the movie!
Keeping very roughly to our monthly schedule of articles on anarchism in Suffolk, today we're looking at H2O in broke and broken Britain.
Anglia Water’s quiet dumping scandal
It’s taken a volunteer group of testers to keep an eye on some quite startling poisoning of the Gipping in recent months.

It's a little outside our patch, just over the border in Norfolk, but the violence which has been taking place against working class people is just another expression of a lethal moral panic the far-right has been stoking for years. There is no policy that will placate them because their end goal >>
Cities are often the focus of radical ideas – the audience is closer, more left leaning, the ideas find easier paths to resonate. But what of places like Ipswich, or Bury, or Lowestoft? S of @suffolkanarchists.bsky.social shares some thoughts. organisemagazine.org.uk/2026/08/06/e...

Notes on a "rally" held by the far-right transphobe in Ipswich today.
The underwhelming Posie Parker roadshow
"Something something PENIS" yelled over and over again like a Freudian tic, plus a dozen crumpled hangers-on, speaks more of a desperate need for attention than a political project.

Well that's embarrassing for them ... University of Suffolk comes 131st out of 147 on the climate and social justice league table this year, with an ethical investment scheme that comes in somewhere between blood diamonds and summoning the actual devil.
One of our members has picked up a bunch of the new issue of Freedom Anarchist Journal while on a trip to London - anybody who wants one let us know while we still have some to give away!
There's something particularly pathetic about the Reform offering for Norfolk-Suffolk mayor. David Bick works in the sports industry but likes to cosplay as a tweed-suited farmhouse aristo. A long-time London Tory with even less loyalty than is usual among that type. Change? What change? ~S
It's our last free film screening of the year this Sunday! The Estallido Social (Social Explosion) was a popular uprising in Chile in 2019. What began as a student campaign of transit fare evasions quickly spread into a nationwide uprising.

Tonight! Free food and film with friendly folks, 7pm at the Quaker Meeting House 🙂
