Technical Designer by day, Solo Indie Game Developer by night. Currently working on Night and the City, a noir, detective RPG.

You work for years building game, putting your heart and soul into it. Then just as you near release you get people who've never played it calling it soulless, an asset flip, a disaster. Masked Youtubers gleefully picking apart preview material. Other Youtubers reacting to those videos...

Big shout out to all the Tech Designers! Those folks that weave code, art and audio into gameplay gold - Jacks of all trades and masters of many - the first responders when something goes wrong - the often overlooked but vital #gamedev discipline.

Why can't I get into Dark Souls!? Every year I try, thinking this will be the time it all makes sense and pulls me in, but every year I'm left confused and frustrated. What am I doing wrong? I really want to play Elden Ring but isn't that more of the same?

It's thirty-five years since my first game credit. Since then I've worked on good games, bad games, big ones and small ones. And the more experience I gain the more I realise just how little I actually know for certain - I'm just more comfortable admitting it. #gamedev

Been watching a lot of devlogs about making (financially) successful #indiegame. Some great insights. Seems like streaming suitability and moments with viral potential are key. Not sure my game will have either but I'm undeterred - I just want this game to exist in the world. #gamedev
