The thousand year old sport is alive and kicking in Japan. No spoilers in bout posts - all post bout spoilers clearly marked.

Been meaning to put these up forever. Listed official tourney/basho posters (current and some past ones) if you'd like one or more. They come folded since COVID, but they still look quite nice when unfolded and displayed thesumosoul.com

Day15 sandanme playoff Sd3 Tenshōyama (L) Sd29 Tochimusashi (R) Tenshō has only lost once each basho from Aki last year til this perfect basho. Musashi joined pro sumo at sandanme due to amateur success and got a jūryō yūshō but has had injury trouble (he is just off injury leave)

Day15 jūryō J2 Tokihayate 9-5 (L) J6 Shōnannoumi 11-3 (R) If Shōnan wins he takes yūshō outright. If he loses we’ll get a playoff with whomever else ends up with 11 wins in jūryō. There is a mono’ii cuz former Gōeidō saw end clearly, and gyōji decision is reversed #nagoyabasho2026
