Finished Underboss: Sammy the Bull Gravano’s Story of Life in the Mafia by Peter Maas 📚💙 I read this because my stepdad is fascinated by the Mafia. Sammy definitely inflated his own importance, but I enjoyed hearing his POV on life in the Mafia & his reasoning for becoming an informant. #BookSky

On Dolly Parton Day, I'm remember how she... -Gifted millions of free books to kids -Ensured musicians she worked with got union benefits -Helped fund medical research and the COVID vaccine -Donated millions to communities hit by natural disasters -Funded high school band programs She is missed!

Finished The Body by Stephen King on Audible, narrated by Wil Wheaton 📚💙 Wil did such an amazing job bringing this story to life, especially during the train scene. Reading this made me appreciate the story in a whole new way. And, of course, now I need to re-watch Stand by Me 🎬 #BookSky #MovieSky

Finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child 📚💙 I actually really enjoyed how different it felt reading it as a screenplay. It made me wish I could see the play performed in real life someday. Still love the magic, but I think experiencing the story on stage would make it even more magical ⚡️ #BookSky

I remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs. We lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. Now, two MORE unvaccinated people have died from measles. What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

This Labor Day (and all other days): Thank the workers who serve you. Appreciate the workers who care for you. Respect the workers who pick up your trash. Salute the workers who get you your mail. Honor the workers who teach your children. Pay all workers a living wage.

For years, “9 to 5” has been my alarm ringtone. It's a little burst of Dolly Parton reminding me every morning to get up, find my strength, and take on the day ahead. Thank you for the music, the inspiration, and the joy. You will be deeply missed 💜

Finished Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, narrated by Penn Badgley 📚💙 Honestly, I found it okay. I loved the concept, the futuristic elements, & the questions it raises about society, technology, & censorship. Some quotes really stuck with me, especially that iconic opening line. #BookSky

👋 Public Health Communicator from Australia here. One of the reasons Australia punches above its weight in sports is that it prioritizes sports science. It's no surprise that Aussie athletes like the swim team have been consistently masking to prevent themselves getting sick before competitions.

Canadian Ellie Black is the first gymnast, man or woman, to win two Commonwealth Games all-around titles. Her longevity in the sport is incredible. She’s beloved by teammates, competitors and fans. And she’s made more history for Canada.

Revisited 1984 by George Orwell for the 2nd time because I was reading it alongside my dad who was reading it for the 1st time 📚💙 Hearing his perspectives made it feel new again. Getting to compare our thoughts also made the story even richer. Books are truly better when shared! #BookSky #BookClub

Thou shalt not blame Canada for wildfires caused by climate change you’ve spent your whole life denying and intensifying through your own greed and stupidity.

My wish for today is that you write something with your human brain. I don't care if it's a grocery list, an email, a letter to your cat or a poem about cookies. Writing is so uniquely human and magical and it should be celebrated.

I just finished listening to 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas by Jules Verne. I loved the concept of the Nautilus & Captain Nemo, but the story itself didn’t quite work for me. I much preferred his other books. It was still fascinating to see the imagination that helped shape early sci-fi! #BookSky 📚🎧

Just finished listening to Animal Farm by George Orwell, narrated by Stephen Fry as part of the Orwell Collection on Audible 💙📚 Boxer’s death absolutely shook me, and that ending was incredible! Such a powerful story that still feels relevant today. I’d highly recommend it to everyone! #BookSky
