When these AI companies stop giving you free slop, I will *not* be reteaching you how to think. You gave it up, learn to do it again the hard way.

Mark Carney just appointed the architect of this, Malcom Lavoie to the Federal Bench. Don’t say you were not warned. #polcan #cdnpoli Cc: @queermomentum.ca @wearequeeraf.com @xtramagazine.com @pinknews.bsky.social @thedarcymichael.bsky.social calgary.citynews.ca/2025/09/18/a...

I really feel like Canada's national interest has shifted focus towards Quebec this term. Between Anglophones identifying the French language as an important part of our national identity, bilingualism as a whole being important, and the cultural and manufacturing output Quebec provides for Canada.
So, let me get this right: The USA suffered this year from decreased access to water, in part due to a short winter resulting in little spring-runoff into reservoirs, and in part due to datacenters sucking it up And this winter's supposed to be a *very* weak winter due to El Nino?
Someone has this as their bluesky banner, and I'm unsure of whether I should take this as the likely meaning "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" or if it's an intentional call-to-action to speak up when there's nothing nice to say
chattrpg why dungeons *and* dragons? isn't that too much?
Dunno who needs to hear this, but theft occurs when you deprive an owner of their property, or transform it in such a way it cannot be restored. Piracy is not theft.
The person writing a simple calculator that reads from stdin is more of a programmer that any vibecoder
I don't enjoy real-time combat and if they ever make a turn-based zelda game it'll automatically have my favourite combat in a zelda game.
Love love love this! Integrating more of the french language into Canadian life strengthens us as a nation, builds on our unique cultural identity, and makes access to important information more equitable for all. I hope Kinew sticks with using french in the legislature, and maybe others'll follow
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew Sticks to French for Third Day in Legislature
These days, an artisinal restaurant has its name in arial font, photos taken with a cellphone camera, and a list of items with ingredients. No need to AI generate burgers that look like bugs, but also no need to model and photoshop a mostly-unreal depiction of your food! Just text and photos!!
Companies should have to honour what their customer service agents guarantee.
The AI creep is seemingly ubiquitous in customer service jobs now. In reporting this story, @gabydvj.bsky.social heard from movie theater workers, baristas, and Apple Store employees, all of whom have had customers ask for products or features that don’t exist. Read more: buff.ly/4togSFP
Pro-AI accounts just haven't figured out their parameters yet I guess, because they keep reskeeting my anti-AI skeets.
Hey, maybe public officials shouldn't be allowed to blatantly lie? And maybe, just maybe, platforms should remove content from public officials blatantly lying instead of just slapping a "this isn't true" label beneath it?
Much as the CAQ being decimated last night was *deserved*, it was not *democratic*. 14% of Quebecois voted for them, and their voices are going to be absent in the National Assembly. We need electoral reform before our people entirely lose faith in the strength of Canadian democracy.
Quebec politics right now is like “haha, the right wing party is projected to win no seats 😀 But also the right wing party is projected to win☹️ The centre right wing party is in second 😐 the unhinged right wing party is in third 🤔” Is Quebec 17 right wing parties in a trench coat⁉️
Allowing myself, for a second, to enjoy the CAQ currently being projected to win no seats Then I see they have 15% of the vote and remember how awful first past the post is, even when it uses its evil “vote efficiency” powers for good
Carney had no choice, you guys. Alberta separatists are just too smart and too powerful. But don't worry, his followers know that he doesn't actually want a pipeline despite the overwhelming evidence of everything he says and does.
Alberta’s referendum blackmailing of the country left Carney with no choice but to be seen as giving in. Everyone knows it won’t get built/finished - there’s no business case. It will cost taxpayers, but the cost of Alberta separation (and US interference) would be much higher.
Looking forward to the PQ's agenda of death and disease in Quebec. Epidemics and death from minor illness are going to plague our province, and we're the ones who voted it in.
In honor of National Pancake Day, here is a reminder of how this website's founder and CTO responded to people asking them to moderate their platform and ban the individuals actively harassing trans people, including but not limited to Jesse Singal
Harassing the mods into banning someone has never worked. And harassing people in general has never changed their mind.
Glad to see RoyalCities understands the premise of the video. We're excited for things because humans triumphed over technology to create them. Without that human triumph, all that remains is bugs that the poster's incapable of fixing.
Thank you for watching the entire video <3
In quebec's national election tomorrow, if you don't want to privatise healthcare, there's only one party you can vote for, and yet somehow they're polling in last place.
