I think I’ve found my art lady tribe! 👩‍🎨They are a lovely, fun bunch, and getting together every week, sometimes twice, to paint or just hanging out doing artsy things like gallery visits, is a balm for my soul! They inspire me, and make me feel valued, and I’m so grateful for that! I needed it. ❤️

I covered a not working for me painting on canvas with molding paste instead of just gesso. It's got a lovely silky surface that when super watered down high flow acrylic is applied, you get a watercolour effect. 🤗 I used a palette knife & didn't make it smooth, for a rustic look. ☀️ #WorkInProgress

Doing mini pastel landscapes on my deck. Can't use acrylics outside because it's always breezy. Pastel makes dust, so doing it outside is perfect! Doing plein air on location with my art club on Tues. I've never done one looking at actual scenery before, so that will be interesting! 😜 #Pastel

Mini pastel landscape masked off with blue tape on a table next to pastels and tools.Mini pastel made up landscape masked off with blue tape. Lavender coloured bushes are in the middle with a blue sky and puffy white clouds. A meadow is in the foreground with tiny multicoloured wildflowers. A few trees are in the distance.

The imagery came about from just texturing with my 2nd layer of gesso, of all things! I saw the cliffs and some trees and built the world from there. Added a portal, of course, and that's me under the tree, having come through it! 😁 "Hanging Out In The 5th Dimension" acrylic and mixed media #ArtYear

A dreamy fantasy landscape features cliffs with floral vines on the right, green pointy hills on the left with three large trees in front of them, blue, magenta, and green. On the right, in front of the cliffs, are two smaller pointy green hills, with a magenta tree and a woman sitting beneath it(the artist) reading a book. There is a body of blue water in the middle and lighter green mountains in the distance, with small trees on their surfaces. A swirly aqua coloured portal is embedded in one. In the foreground there are wildflowers in magenta, lilac and white, with white stones along the bottom. The sky is light blue with subtle white puffy clouds, and a spaceship hovers in it.

I have been painting, just haven't felt like posting much lately. 🤷‍♀️ I did get this beautiful new tattoo today(my 6th) in honour of my 60th birthday in a month. 🥳Should be all healed up by then. Getting them makes me feel ALIVE in my old age. I love having art on me! Might get a sci-fi one next.🛸🪐🤓

Got new ink last Thursday! I’m so addicted. lol Tigers have always been my favourite wild animal ever since I got to hold a baby one as a kid! 🥰Hibiscus is for my love of tropical places. I paint them a lot too! 🌺 I was going to go with tiger lilies, but I liked her sketch with these better.
