Lord of the Rings: War in the North is not the game I was expecting it to be. Which is weird, because now I'm looking at it, I feel like its popped up on my radar recently for some reason.
That's because the $100 version is the full game and the $80 isn't. This article would be better headlined "Zelnick flaunts his greed by boasting how much he's grifting from fans".

The lesson here is that it was never that the game was bad. It's a lesson in the absolute necessity to properly manage hype in both directions and be unequivocally clear and up front about what your game is and is not.

I know this is the point, but I wish you could actually view the weird ass items Temu and Ali Express show you in ads. Just saw a desk that looks like something from the starship Enterprise. But I know if I click it, it'll take me to the homepage and about 3000 spin to win ads.

I'm collecting skulls in Halo this morning and I've been on this one skull for about 20 minutes... failing over and over and I don't think I've had a single bit of fun doing it. 😂👏

Thanks to Xbox I got to preview Gears of War E-Day! The Coalition have freshened up Gears movement in a big way, with Horde Siege mode taking inspiration from games like Helldivers 2, giving a jaw-dropping and multi-objective co-op experience on the biggest maps ever. I can't wait to play more.
Thankfully it has rained quite heavily for the last 9 hours or so, so hopefully Big North Enthusiast Andy Burnham won't need to actually look north at any point... Although maybe that will change soon when it becomes convenient to start looking at North Sea oil and gas licences...

Nethy Bridge is a two hour drive from me and we are currently having to hide inside because there's so much smoke.
