The point was even if ENG had a red ball competition for practice for this Test, it wouldn't yielded immediate dividends. But at the same time, the long term gains you can achieve by playing the red ball game are immense.

However, even if you don't play Tests, playing red ball cricket is helpful for the development of their game. Better basics, better discipline.
Yastika turned up and scored. Even if they had Rawal/Punia/Deol at one drop, they wouldn't have looked out of place either. Young Anushka has better technique than a lot of ENG batters you see. Red ball training could help someone like say a Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones to become a better cricketer.

This might help in other formats as well. Not everything has to lead to wins. Here the outcome is ENG will get better cricketers if they have red ball experience at lower levels.

India just didn't have bowling right from the outset to challenge strong batting sides. Backing themselves to chase whatever they concede regardless of the conditions was the only way to win.
ICC has announced that top five ranked teams as of July 6 along with the hosts Sri Lanka will qualify for the inaugural edition of the Women's Champions Trophy 2027. Currently Australia, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa are the top five ranked teams.

For India's bowling to work, they need to get everything spot on. With SA's struggles, the loss of Shreyanka was a body blow. Their choice of bowlers seem outcome based. Expected them not to pick RST after umpiring denied her two wickets & bowling the 20th in the warm-up.
India might struggle to qualify even with a win against Australia if it comes down to NRR. SA will have two opportunities (as compared to one for India) to make up the deficit and get ahead of India before that game. #T20WorldCup
