Don't stress the small stuff ...

The late 12th Century Galilee Chapel at Durham Cathedral, dominated by the shrine of St Bede. The large collection of medieval and continental glass in this chapel was set here in the 1960s. It includes glass from Ackworth Grange, Warwick Priory and several York churches.

A fragmentary panel from a 15th Century Seven Sacraments series, depicting Matrimony, part of a large collection of medieval and continental glass set in the Galilee Chapel of Durham Cathedral in the 1960s. It probably came from a York church. Whoever reset it tried to give the groom a crown!

In charge of defence, but bet he's aching to start the back stabbing! Break out the popcorn! I thought ageing meant I'd become a blue rinse, conservative Tory ... instead, I'm now a disillusioned anarchist with no respect for any senior politician, regardless of the political flavour!

I can’t take Streeting seriously as Defence Secretary. Maybe it’s because his own actions are so indefensible @skynewsrss.bsky.social

About time we introduced a levy/fine/charge for being bigoted. You can say what you like, but it will cost you, big time, in money & prison time!. And fines for being thick! The UK has a comparatively 'good' education system, there's no excuse for being as ignorant as so many UK citizens are!

“Tariffs are a favoured diplomatic tool of President Trump and Reform could face significant legal challenges if it follows suit” (page2) Farage is a desperate, vindictive bullshitter who only appeals to racists with no idea how the world and trade and law actually work. Cos that’s a bit hard.

Farage's tariff plan on migrants

Reform UK would impose tariffs on countries that refuse to accept the return of migrants, under plans expected to be announced this week.

Nigel Farage will outline new policies, including levies on goods and services, that would force countries to agree to deportations.

The party also proposes banning their airlines from British airspace.

The escalation of Reform’s hardline deportations policy comes as the Conservatives embrace a new political strategy designed to recapture voters with a focus on the economy.

Some 20,900 people have crossed the Channel in small boats this year, down about 40 per cent on the same period in 2025, according to official figures. Since 2018, more than 211,000 have made the crossing, of whom about 9,700 had been returned by June.

Reform intends to impose visa bans for people who legally want to visit the UK from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia until the countries agree to take back illegal migrants and foreign criminals, under plans announced in February. The list includes several of the countries with the largest numbers of asylum seekers in the UK in recent years.

Agree totally @tessamunt.bsky.social Why, given the larger number of LibDem MPs compared to reform, is this party not as well represented on current affairs programmes & in televised discussions. Yes, we need freedom of speech, but we also need fairness & objectivity in presenting political views!

Today, Lifeboat Saturday, I’d like to pay tribute to the many brave men and women who volunteer for the #RNLI, risking their lives to save others in grave danger. I’m appalled at the abuse and intimidation faced by RNLI crews in recent weeks. Let’s support and celebrate this incredible charity.

Returning from France 🇫🇷😍 Pic to remember how sunny/warm it can be, despite wind/torrential rain in Nice & Aix 2 days ago 😱😫 Hate when told there's free wifi... & there really isn't (mostly at airports & on trains 🙄) Feel like I've been living 'Les Miserables' with the Lycéens protests & riot police!

Sagal Abdi-Wali came to the UK aged 7 having fled the war in Somalia with her family. She has thrived. Leader of Camden council and now the MP for Holborn and St Pancras. A narrative that runs counter to all we are told about refugees. Congratulations www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Labour fends off Green party to win Holborn and St Pancras byelection

Victory by Sagal Abdi-Wali in north London seat will be a relief for Andy Burnham in high-stakes battle for the left of British politics
