Rebuilt the reel cage after work. I'd say it was a mid-PITA as pachislo reel assemblies go. At least it has supports on both sides of the tapes. Hopper will be next... then onto the entire door. I think I'm maybe 16 hours into this one so far...

This is why I don't drive. If you think I have a problem with buying cheap pachislo, I would be buying cheap del Sols every week. Then I'd have them all wrapped like Ridge Racer cars.
Starting in on restoring and rebuilding the 007 SP pachislot. Cabinet fully stripped. Cabinet fully cleaned, painted, transformer and new power cord installed. Plates, reel shelf, mainboard, reel stop board, power supply and harnesses reinstalled.

Wooooooo! I've still got it. Admittedly I barely pulled this one off, I had two crashes in the race and a bad 4th qualifying, which eats away at available points. Pole Position is (surprisingly) a game of really tight scores at the top.

Found a translucent yellow aftermarket Saturn shell at CAX for $25. The power button and battery door are inside. Weren't these like $100? It said "as is" and they had a couple other peacemeal shells but this looks complete and perfect other than missing a rubber foot pad.
The biggest change at CAX over the years is how parents just let their kids run loose or ditch them. I've already had to enforce a bit of polite etiquette. One kid stuck around a bit, his mind was blown when I showed that you should never touch the brake in Pole Position.
This Lunar Lander cocktail is ridiculous and should have went into production. However, like most things Lunar Lander, the success of Asteroids killed off that idea. The mini control panels work great and are just as precise as the full size game's thruster handle.
